How many times in a week do you think to yourself or say it out loud "I don't want to make the mistake. Or I just want to get it right or I have to do it right?"
I do not understand when and where our perceived mistakes became our biggest enemies.
Probably the day humans starting equating pain to suffering.
As a child I was always told to NOT make a mistake. Be very careful. Exams made sure it ingrained the same in my mind. As a grown up I was afraid to make mistakes. Mistakes are bad. Mistakes make you a terrible human being. People judge you for your mistakes. Possibly mistakes make you vulnerable.
More than half of our dreams die in the fear of making mistakes.
Then I saw a plant growing on concrete.
A creeper climbing up the pole without a sense of direction
A seed that cracked open on the wrong side of the pot and had an extensive and through rooting when it developed in to a plant, since it had to traveled a different way altogether to make it sprout out of the soil.
Then "by mistake" I landed on a Facebook page and found my dog Chief's adoption post.
Chronologically in the above incidents I saw - resilience and miracle, dedication and support, lesson and endurance,
And Love.
And by the Grace of the mistakes, my mind started wondering about mistakes we make in life, the experiences we fail in life, the darkness we face in life.
All I could see "at the base of it" were lessons, support and love.
A mistake is again something misunderstood because no one teaches you - you can learn from your mistake but rather we are taught - you will be punished for your mistake.
That makes me wonder, does it come from the concept of KARMA? That is followed world wide as a basis of good deeds. And good deeds in the name of Karma has repercussions on our life at a soul level more than a mistake but that is a topic for another day.
Staying to the topic of today, Karma by itself is misunderstood.
To keep it short, the Universe doesn't punish you ever, karma is not a punishment tool, it is a balancing tool.
It's like you are riding a cycle and you go off balance. Do you balance yourself or start punishing yourself?
You balance yourself with lessons.
The mistakes are encounters of lessons.
I MADE A MISTAKE AND I LEARNT FROM IT. That's it.
But instead we keep walking carefully, avoiding all possibilities just to not make a mistake that's not even related to the previous mistakes.
And there you go... We live in anticipation.
The fear, this continuous trial of being the righteous, and perfect one makes you stressed, keeps you away from the love of your life and even unconsciously stops your growth and abundance.
From my decade long research work with kids and adults in psychology, art and art therapy,
And my experience and analysis after working with many people in my therapy sessions, some of the bodily symptoms that can possibly be observed in that timeline of yours are anxiety, panic attack, depression, joint stiffness especially hip and knee, back issues, vertigo, headache, eye sight issues and some skin issues.
Trust me, it's not worth it.
So go ahead make mistakes!
Take the risk- do the mistake. It's either a fortune or a lesson. Either way there is nothing called a failure.
Failure is only when you accept and give up. Lesson is when you open up learnt and take it forward.
